Learning Objective #3 Getting started is just that. It is time to get started creating your Emergency Action Plan.
During learning Objective #3 you will begin the information gathering process.

Learning Objective #4 Types of Emergencies and Disasters
Since the practical exercise in LO #4 has you reviewing material in the Are You Ready handbook, I will not present a rousing 15 minute video on the subject.
Consider yourself lucky that my video editor crashed and has decided to stay down.
We will conduct a review of the Emergencies and Disasters that may come crashing into our lives.
These will include;
? Natural
? Manmade – Technological
? Civil Incidents
? National Security Issues =Terrorism
Review page 47 ? 177 of the Are You Ready covers each of these except Civil Incidents. Download the file below for review.

Are You At Risk?
This interesting map was prepared by CoreLogic. It represents locations in the Continental United States that are at risk for mortgage foreclosures due to natural disasters.
You will notice the deep red is right on top of coastal communities.
U.S. population is migrating toward coastal communities.
It is projected that by the year 2020, 60% of the U.S population will live within 100 miles of a coast. More people, less land and fewer emergency resources to go around.
Review all of the types of emergencies and disasters.
Become familiar with all of them.
Will you find yourself in a situation not your norm.
Be it a vacation, business trip.
You could be caught unprepared.
In Week 3 we will review the Risk Management process and Stress and the Benefits of having a plan.
Till next time
